Kids… $6×30=180!
I guess this is a follow up to yesterday’s blog/rant about the many women, both young and old, along with their expectations. When shit like this is being pushed on the younger generation, we need to hit the brakes, pull the handbrake, and bring this ride to a screeching halt. It is not about the retailer being able to or not being able to offer such “incentives and rewards” it is about the want and the need from the people to own the next big thing at all costs.
Face it, all brand name items are bullshit. We made them brand names and now we are paying for it. We put the celebrities where they are and now, we are buying up the shit that they are selling. Wake up people, wake up! Oh yeah, your coffee may be expensive too, but at least you can make a coffee with Nescafe and do not need but want your freaking $8 oat milk bullshit latte, that’s another blog, I guess.
Buy Now Pay Later
Yes, you will pay later with interest, stress, and mental illness. Most of the financial stress we bring on to ourselves by ourselves. Other than a decent phone and computer, you do not need anything brand name in your life. If you are ashamed to be seen in a pair of cheap Walmart sneakers because you cannot afford the $500 Converse ones, it’s okay. It is not a shame to not have the best of everything, especially when you put your meals after your clothes.
This buy now pay later shit needs to end. Sure, it’s not against the law but I guess it may need to be. Pushing the young generation into debt will not be good for anyone in the present or the future. What do we expect from low wages, inflation, and the inability to own anything in current times? So why bother letting anyone sell you on this own now, pay later shit?
Because You Are A Fool.
If you buy into that shit, you are a fool. I am so sorry, hate me now or later, but I cannot say anything else. No, you are an idiot if you buy shoes this way. Yeah, yeah, the house and the mortgages and car payments are all legit expenses to be paid monthly. However, shoes, jewelry, and other items are not. If you need to buy a 10k diamond ring and must pay for it over 10 years, you and your fiancé have priority issues. Is that a thing? Priority issues? Not sure, but I am using it as a title for this blog.
If you allow yourself the mental stress and the financial unhealthiness for the coming years because of idiotic issues like this, you deserve the stress and mental health problems you pile onto yourself. Back to the shoes… I hope no one takes these ridiculous offers and insanely high-interest rates that go with this. Remember your credit score and remember that you will be paying for this in the future. Skip your expensive Starbucks latte for a few a month and you too can be running around in debt-free shoes. Remember, $6×30=180!
