Rima has two stores close to each other in Seminyak Village Bali. She usually spends her money on ads on Instagram and we decided to do a pretty big giveaway, a 2-night, 3-day paid trip to Bali. Total of about USD 350. The results were astounding. In less than 24 hours, hundreds followed her Instagram and over 100k people visited the post.

Love it or hate it, it is here to stay. Everyone is building a brand, a business, or trying to become an influencer to build their brand. Every business is striving to create ads and spend money on some form of advertising to gain traction in the marketplace.
In Bali, it could be restaurants, beach clubs, or the next amazing villa trying to bring in renters to Airbnb or selling off plan. It is hard to do any of that without the eyeballs staring back at you on some form of social media. Word of mouth is still the best advertisement except it is now more like…

It is all about getting eyeballs to the right audience. 80% of my audience is women. The decision makers in most households are women. Even though from the outside we may not seem to align, we did. Sure, everyone wants to win something, and while we did not think we would be this successful in marketing this giveaway, we were.
The draw is on August 31st and by then the video and the @alir_tirta_batik Instagram will have grown considerably; the mission was a success in every possible way.
Will it work all the time? Possibly not. However, the fact that it did, gave me enough feedback to know when to launch a campaign on TikTok, the timing, and the content.
I am always open and honest in my personal life and I do the same on my social media. Advertising can be hit-and-miss. With the right date, the hit-and-miss can be narrowed down considerably.
