The Poop That Happens

Funny things happen when you post things that people have an opinion on social media!

For the first time, I got stitched in a video with a bit of hate. I found it quite amusing and interesting at the same time. The hate was mostly toward the Indonesian women and then towards me and my slogan. For one they didn’t like me… Well, that’s ok, we cannot like everyone, right? So for them to not like me is of no importance and I will not change my content of the way I deliver content. Once more, not my problem and I won’t change what I do or how I do it. But when they turned towards the mostly women audience and their comments, that made me a little upset and I had to reply. I replied with love, kindness, and sarcasm. Not sure if she understands the idea of sarcasm as she seemed to be a bit of a troll.

Kill Them With Kindness.

I replied with a funny video saying I love her and she replied with the fact that she is not interested in me. Yah, she is a little on the weird side anyway… Didn’t get the point of my reply and thank goodness cause she seems to be quite the bitch and seems to reply to many videos with her own dissatisfaction with the content on hand.

To her credit, the comments towards the Indonesian women commenting openly about wanting to get married and saying “I love you!” are correct. No woman should throw themselves at a man, no matter how much attraction there is. But she missed the point by a few kilometers. TikTok is entertainment, it’s fun and most TikTok Lives are just that. They are informative, interesting, and sometimes fun, crazy, serious, and often a bit naughty. It is a form of entertainment where you can disconnect from daily life. This is where she missed the point. It’s nothing but content and entertainment, you do not need to watch.

So Then?

We went back and forth on a few messages and in the end she said she liked my content and does not have a problem with me. For me, it was an interesting interaction. I am not used to having serious conversations on TikTok. Social media is about social interaction and social media-filled content that is often unreal. My content is not misleading or harmful. It is usually a mix of my so, so Bahasa, and English with a lot of hand motions and facial expressions. The hate bit was fantastic and at the same time eye opening because it means that some people are paying attention and watching the content. For her, it was a small blip on the radar and for me, it was thousands of interactions of women supporting and defending each other. Most get that this is all a joke and others simply laugh it off because it is social media. That is the key, keep the peace and have fun guys.
