It’s Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sarah loved Valentine’s Day, but not for the same reason as most people. She didn’t care about chocolates or gifts. She only wanted one thing: love. And she wanted it from Alex, her friend who didn’t know how she felt. It has been years and years since this cat and mouse game had gone on between them; it was time for it stop. Now or never Sarah thought to herself.

She decided to have a party and invite Alex and their friends. She hoped he would notice her and fall in love with her. She made her home look nice and wore a pretty dress. The usual things happened, fun and laughter but somehow nothing ever surpassed that. This year would be different. Sarah decided to throw caution to the wind and run with it.

The party started, Sarah was happy to see Alex. However, he didn’t seem to pay attention to her. He ate and talked to other people, ate some more and nearly fell asleep on the couch. Sarah was sad and thought he would never love her. As the night wore on Sarah was losing hope.

Then something amazing happened. Alex, who was nearly asleep on the couch only moments ago, appeared in a tuxedo with flowers, chocolates and wide smile that lit up Sarah’s heart. He looked at Sarah. When they locked eyes, Sarah was speechless and waited for him to say something.

He smiled and came closer to her. The whole room went quiet as everyone looked on. I love you too Sarah, Alex said. Sarah was overjoyed. She realized that this was the best Valentine’s Day ever and this tension between them was finally broken. It wasn’t about chocolates or gifts. It was about love. And she found it with Alex.

They hugged and kissed, danced and laughed over the many times they nearly hit it off, better later than never. Sarah thought that love can surprise you when you least expect it. And she didn’t need chocolates or gifts, she need love and Alex.

So, dear readers, when you celebrate Valentine’s Day, remember that love can be anywhere. No matter if you are single or not. Have a happy day full of laughter, joy, and love. Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️
