Are you a sheep? A follower? Or a Leader?
Let’s assume you are a self-appointed leader of a certain group. A group that maybe, you think you are leading but you are actually not. How about a group chat or a WhatsApp group? You may be the oldest or even the wisest, so people may look up to you and even seek guidance from you. However, you were not and are not the true appointed leader of a group because there never was one. You took on the role by default and others sort of fell in line because of respect and maybe even bullying.
Now by bullying, I do not mean threats or even bodily harm. It could be gentle persuasion on certain groups of impressionable young people and dropping hints. Hint’s like “Oh why did they say this, why do they have to act like that?”
You are engaging impressionable people with your preconceived notions of what you like.
Forming your own group.
Forming one group behind the back or another back is backstabbing. If you do not have enough courage to come forth and speak up you are not a leader.
You are a wimp. You are dishonest and weak.
If you want to be a true leader, you need to take the good with the bad. It is as simple as that! Take the glory but also take the shit that comes with being a leader. Shunning people you do not like means you are weak, jealous, and full of envy. Rethink your position as a would-be leader so that you can improve yourself and help others even when the overall situation does not suit you.
Never forget that people may act out because they are going through something. This may be a personal thing or a group thing. They could have family problems or problems that you are not aware of.
Attention Seeking.
This is done often for various reasons. A wanna-be leader may do the same by calling out other members and putting them down to raise their status. This is wrong!
A leader will be able to manage a group of functional and dysfunctional people because they have people skills. This my friends you are not born with. You are not born with all the proper skills to manage people. So unless you have the experience to deal with a large group, maybe you should not try to lead one.
As a leader, you cannot be driven by jealousy, hate, anger, or envy. Take the good with the bad and learn from the mistakes you have made in the past. We have all made them and I hope we have all learned from them. Once more, do not shun others for your shortcomings or jealousy. If you are not able to control your feelings and you are lashing out, you suck at being a leader. Step down, admit you have failed, or change your ways before the group you think you lead, falls apart.
