The upcoming book, Gerobak 777.
While I am admittedly having an issue with the book cover, we are moving forward. I have only one more thing to do and that is to dedicate this book and I think I have found my way.
There are millions and millions of underpaid workers in Indonesia and this book shows a certain aspect of that. The disconnect between the rich and the poor, as well as the disconnect between the ultra-rich and ultra-poor.

I have worked for three companies in Indonesia and this trend is evident not only in those companies but throughout Indonesia. I come from a communist country; our family worked hard to leave that godawful system behind.
We Always Treated People Fairly
This is a terrible reality in Indonesia. Most people are asked to work totally stupid, unrealistic, and stressful jobs. In some cases, they have been careers. Calls at 6 a.m. Zoom calls until 1 a.m. are common. Your boss is the king and sometimes he is not kind. Please insert any descriptive and creative words here. Working at all hours of the night, not listening to people, micromanaging individuals and abusive language are commonplace. Discrimination on age, height, weight, and looks runs rampant.
This is the dark side of the common workplace in Indonesia. Many do not speak up because they are abused, belittled, and threatened. This is the downfall of an amazing country that I have chosen as a second home.
Gerobak 777 dedication:
Treat people fairly!
You are worthless, stupid, what were you thinking, why didn’t you ask me, and how could you make such a mistake? Have you ever heard anything remotely like this from your screaming, narcissistic boss? Have you been told you are worthless and useless? Well, let that jerk of a boss work without you.
Know your worth and try hard to move forward on whatever path you choose. I try hard to help people and guide them. I try to make them see their self-worth. Women, men, and people of all walks of life. I do not reject people based on race, color, or creed. This book and the story behind it are for all the people who are being abused and taken for granted. You are worth much more than the sum of your parts. Treat people fairly, if they are underperforming, inform them. If they need to change, explain it to them. If they suck at their job, let them know. Do not treat them like dirt. Above all, be nice, life is too short, we all need to get by and hopefully live a long and healthy life.
