Let’s Destroy Bali
With a massive lift possibly going in at the most pristine beach in Nusa Penida to Bali slowly giving up its green belt to insane prices and construction… I am calling attention to this now that this will lead to a terrible situation unless something is done.
Bali is introducing taxes and taxes upon taxes while tourists still flock to the island. Without a clear urban planning strategy, Bali is in for a hell of a ride as garbage piles up on paradise for the sake of profits. The taxes upon taxes are for provincial reasons and not federal. More entry taxes and tourism entry fees on more and more places, all for the sake of profits.
Bali is digging itself a shithole and will face massive problems in the future if they don’t fix this. With the influx of certain countries here, this problem will lead to an unfixable situation in the near future.
The Property Scene!
Bali’s property scene is pretty wild right now. Prices are shooting up because everyone wants a piece of paradise. Since the pandemic chilled out, there’s been this massive rush to grab villas, apartments, you name it. Especially in places like Badung Regency, where all the cool tourist spots are. We’re talking about a 92% jump in interest from folks abroad. That’s huge!
Denpasar and other spots are also getting a lot of love, with more and more people looking to invest. And it’s not just about the tourists; even city folks from Jakarta are flying in for the weekend just to check out properties.
The crowd pulling in is pretty diverse too. You’ve got people from Singapore, the US, Australia, Malaysia, and Japan all wanting a slice of Bali. And with the new Golden Visa policy, it’s like rolling out the red carpet for foreign investors. If the government tweaks a few more policies, who knows how much more the market could open up.
So yeah, Bali’s property market is booming, and it’s all thanks to this mix of foreign investment and the island’s ever-growing appeal to tourists and expats alike. Pretty exciting times if you’re into the whole real estate game!
This Will Lead To Problems
The shit end of the stick will come to locals. Even the working class cannot afford their tiny little flats. Some have increased prices by 50-70 percent cutting into an average worker’s salary by 50 percent. This will lead to further price increases for food, clothing, and lifestyle in general. Bali has stopped being a cheap getaway and will soon become unattainable for most. Good luck to us unless something is done about it. Nothing will be done about so let’s sit tight and see.
