A Book Cover

The Journey Of A Book Cover

The end of graphic designers? Well, let’s see. Yup, it’s been interesting for sure but here is how it all went down. With the amazing ability of AI, one can almost get rid of all graphic designers…

Well not quite, but in some instances, yes!

All graphic designers should be ready for a slump in the business and get right on top of the AI illustrators online. So here is how my book cover design went. First I had an image in mind that I typed into DALL-E a dozen times until I got sort of what I wanted. So here it is in yellow.

But Then…

I gave my AI-generated and Canva-edited cover to a graphic designer who came up with this… Yes, this was rather disappointing and we had to do better. It seems that we have operators and then we have the creative aspect of all this. This combination is not always easy to find but here I went.

After getting a very crappy looking cover back from the first attempt. I had to get back on the AI trend and make myself understand the creative aspect of the cover. Keep in mind we are not catering to a North American audience. We are catering to a B, C, and D, audience in Indonesia. I hope to pick up some A readers as well simply because I am a foreigner and I hope it will be interesting to some people of the A class as well.

So Here It Is.

I know, I know, why am I revealing the cover so early? Well, this is not the final product as it is still being worked on but this is as good as it will get for now.

So with a combination of AI, some human ingenuity, and a little help from my son. We got this going and it is something I am happy with. This is a story about karma and lessons in life. It is about learning and understanding that you and everyone else in this world are only one second away from greatness or disaster. So this is the cover for Gerobak 777 and the story of Maaz that demonstrates the idea of this story. It is about the wealth that has come and gone and now all you can depend on is your self-preservation and the ability to adapt and change. To adapt and change is never easy. However, we humans can and do adapt. We either change or die out. Oh yes, that is the cover we will use… Hope you enjoy it when it comes out.

Zsolt Zsemba

Zsolt Zsemba has worn many different hats. He has been an entrepreneur, and businessman for over 30 years. Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.
