So Desensitized
Let’s face it, shit happens. To some more shit happens than to others. Therefore, we can say that some of us are more “experienced” than others. This makes us smarter and, in many ways, stronger than others. Yet it also makes us much more desensitized than others.
This is life as we know it, we do not know anything else. So, we can roll with the punches, we can fight back, but in the end, we live with the experiences we are dealt with. However, as we learn and grow stronger, we now know that more and more shit will happen.
We can either hold back, stay put or march forward!
Most of us march forward and move on, some will be forever stuck in a rut and stay stagnant. We may even have PTSD from some of the experiences. The lingering thoughts of the past can and do haunt us.
The Pain?
I will say I am desensitized to most of it. Having been through several business incidents and personal tragedies such as divorce, we learn as we go.
However, very few things can truly hurt me nowadays. Very few things surprise me or shock me. I guess as you mature you truly become much more in tune with reality and the crap the world serves up.
If we are in a matrix, someone please reboot the server!
I mean seriously, have you looked at the state the world is in? Have you looked on social media and seen how we are creating artificial food, intelligence, and worlds that we can go to while letting the current state of us and the planet go to shit? We have watched shit pass us by for decades. Even when we think we are getting smarter, we need to ask if we are. Maybe with enough artificial intelligence we can program AI to help us. This is dangerous but it is clear that we have not been intelligent enough to help ourselves.
Why, Oh Why?
Please for the love of all things good and fair, can we not reboot the system and move on? So yes, I feel I am desensitized to personal feelings about people, the world, and many individuals on this planet. After one disappointment to another, I feel I have been through enough to be ready for rock bottom and to bounce back.
Why you ask? I assume it is the many disappointments and the hell that I have been through, I am always ready for the next “oh shit” moment.
This does not mean that it is all doom and gloom. Oh no, plenty of positive things have happened as well. But in the end, I am always ready to lift the shovel and throw some more shit aside when needed.
