Dead Children and Babies

It’s funny how some guidelines on social media are so flexible when posting. Instagram has been very lenient with its posting guidelines for the Israel/Palestine situation.

I always try to steer clear of political conflicts, no pun intended. I try to keep my social media away from getting involved, as many times it simply causes more problems. I am sick and tired of people posting scared, injured, and dead infants, children, and adults for that matter.

If you have an opinion, say it, if you care to add your two cents worth go ahead. However, reposting images of the children and babies makes me want to unfollow you. You add no context, no dates, and no information to any of the pictures. Then you show your outrage by posting babies?

There Needs to Be More.

Like many of us, I too, am dismayed and disgusted. Both with the Russia/Ukraine and the Palestine/Israel situation. However, so many young and mostly uneducated people take a stance that they will die without knowing the context of their photos.

Many get taken down and or blocked, but I am sorry to tell you, that your post isn’t making one bit of difference. Look at the millions that showed up in protests all over the world, did war stop anywhere? Did the bombs stop falling? Hell no, and why not? Because no matter what we do, unless the powers that be see the light; nothing will change. The power-hungry, assholes that could make a difference, do not. Because they are money-hungry snakes in the grass with their arms being twisted by forces beyond our comprehension. The complication of it all is far beyond any conspiracy theory that you and I could come up with.

So, The Babies.

You post another dead child without contacting or writing letters to your local politicians, all you are doing is posting content. I am a father of two and it is awful to see dead children. It breaks my heart. However, without your opinion and text, you are not doing yourself or others any favors by posting the children. Why the children? Why not explain the situation and your post?

In the end, unless a billion people got together and stormed into the conflict zones, maybe then we could stop this absolute madness that we are allowing to happen. We are allowing it because the people in power do whatever they want even when the public is against it. Come on, we can watch all the news and jump up and down, but nothing has changed. Did the wars stop over our in-person or social media efforts? No, it has not. For those posting dead kids and babies, please stop. Maybe write a few words to the politicians and stop posting crap that will make no difference; except make you feel good that YOU did something. You did nothing but post a dead baby pic.
