One Year on TikTok!

It Was Last September.

One year ago the future began to unfold before me. The blog was to be started and I had this idea to go into the then hated world of TikTok. Yup, I didn’t like this social media platform. Maybe it was all the dances? Dances that didn’t appeal to me because I am not much of a dancer. The whole idea of creating so much content was not on my radar and not my focus. As I mentioned before the blog changed my world. It may not be for everyone. I didn’t think it would be for me, not until I felt a certain amount of reward for doing good and exposing small businesses in Ubud.

My First Post.

My first was me dressed up in a light jacket and with a mask and helmet on. I guess it was my way of posting me without posting me. Masked and undercover I made my first content of me and my black and white Scoopy at the time. That “Scoopy” and I share some great memories, maybe I need to buy it from the rental place.

Off I went to Ubud and unknowingly away from my cheating girlfriend at the time. Yeah, that is a whole other story but somewhat part of the birth of my TikTok.

What Next?

Well, this has been a year of changes. My aunt and uncle passed the breakup of my girlfriend of four years. My brother getting a divorce as well as and motorcycle accident.

I started TikTok and my Tunggu, Tunggu, Tunggu brand as well. Tunggu means wait in the Indonesian language. Oddly enough there has been little waiting and lots of doing.

In many ways, it has been a rebirth for me.

If anyone can attest to this, it is Janet, my editor Janet, right Janet? I have never been an extrovert. So putting myself on camera was not part of my plan. Putting myself out there and having my #zsoltzsemba seen 5 million times was certainly not my plan. Building this sliver of “fame” in this vast world was also not a calling I would have run to a year and a half ago. But here we are and the Tunggu Tunggu Tunggu slogan was born and is now seen by over 10 million people. Yeah shocking I know, but here I am with nearly 100,000 followers on my two accounts put together.

Onward We Go.

On this platform, I plan to launch my books and plan to launch the Tunggu, Tunggu, Tunggu brand. While we have merchandise and we plan on doing more and more promo we have yet to explore the true possibilities.

For now, I am kind of shocked at myself and the newfound future I found in this vast world of social media. Putting myself out there, another fish out of water experience is not what I had in mind a year ago. Yet as the blog and I grew along with TikTok, we have become a great match, and thank you Janet for supporting me and the blog.

Zsolt Zsemba

Zsolt Zsemba has worn many different hats. He has been an entrepreneur, and businessman for over 30 years. Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.
