Road Trip Day 5

Off to Ubud, We Go!

Having stayed in a beautiful villa that boasted a beautiful view over the Bali Sea we knew this would be hard to top. Dark clouds rolled into our area this morning. As we had our breakfast the thunder and lightning did induce some anxiety. Though we had our rain gear and our scooter sported brand new tires it is always easier to ride in the dry than being bombarded with water droplets along the way. Thus far we have managed to stay dry and only once did we encounter a few minutes of rain on both rides.

Wrapping up our breakfast and packing things away we were getting ready to say goodbye to beautiful Amed. This place is a touch cooler than most areas of Bali and has a nice cool breeze coming in from the ocean. Do come by and check it out.

Off We Go.

The villa owner from Ubud already got in touch with us this morning and asked about our arrival. We picked a small coffee shop in Sideman as our resting point so let’s see what the future holds… we always hope for a nice ride and interesting scenery.

Staying off the main roads is our goal. We do not want to be stuck behind buses and caravans of cars. The worst ones are construction trucks that can turn flip and die on any incline in Bali. We are stopping at a small coffee shop and recharge our batteries and give our asses a break.

Ugh Ubud

I was so used to the light traffic that when we arrived in the thick of things I wanted to go back. Gone were the easy-flowing rows of scooters, replaced by trucks on the way to Ubud from Sideman. Ubud is busy and traffic was directed by cops.

But upon arrival at the villa, it was all worth it. Rice-field views and a beautiful pool awaited us. This villa was not quite on par with The Angsa Villa but was ok. Villa Madie is modern and has all the conveniences of a modern villa but it’s not quite a 5-star location. For the one night we stayed here it was more than adequate.

Zsolt Zsemba

Zsolt Zsemba has worn many different hats. He has been an entrepreneur, and businessman for over 30 years. Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.
