My Disappointment In the Bali Real Estate Marketing.

First Impressions Yah!

First impressions are lasting ones, right? So maybe take your team aside or hire a professional like me to teach them! If you do not have people skills, how do you expect your team to have them?

“Thank you for contacting us, how may I be of service.”

Okay so on to the sales and marketing bit here. If you are in the industry please bear with me and you may learn something here. I am by no means pretending to be an expert. I am passing on and relaying my personal experiences and things that I have encountered in my last few weeks of looking for a piece of land in Bali.

Yes, I will have a project here with my brother and my son, when I am good and ready. I’ll fill you in. But in the meantime let’s get to the marketing aspect of all this.

First contact… Yes, it does feel like the twilight zone!

Are you genuinely trying to sell me something or are you here to waste my time? Then complain about how I wasted yours? Well if you have had that experience, please read on.

Why do you even bother running ads?

I see people running ads on Facebook, Instagram, Google, and so forth with money they have invested into those ads right? It’s an investment into the ad to attract buyers like myself and hope that when they go fishing in this gargantuan digital world they catch an eyeball here and there and make contact, and maybe a sale.

Number one! Make your ad such that I can chat with you.

If you run an ad on Instagram make sure I can chat with you on Instagram. Nothing annoys me more than being taken to a website where I need to search for a contact!

Number two. Answer me!

One of my salespeople will reach out to you. No, I want you to answer me or I do not want to talk to you. This is simple. You run an ad for an apartment, have the info ready to send to me! Do not annoy me as all I want is the price and location.

Yes, your goal is to get my number to call me up and push the sale to me but I don’t want that. You need to answer 1000 people before you make the sale, but if you are nice, I’ll get back to you.

My response to the “send me your WhatsApp” is to send me the info here, no WA. They always send the info…

Number three. Be nice.

When you run an ad and expect people to reach out to you, remember you put the ad up so people will reach out to you right? So when they reach out to you, the best thing is, is to be nice.

The person that reaches out should be polite, caring, and start with…

Thank you for contacting us, how may I be of service?

For crying out loud, this one sentence will get me as your client! Follow this up with a “How may I help you?” and you are 100% going to get a positive response from me.

However, if you push me to WA or ask to call immediately you are being rude. Oh sure, you’ll say you need the contact and want to follow up. However, it’s up to you to make me want to follow up with you, not for you to hand me off to some agent and have them call me. I reach out to you and your simple job is… DO NOT SCARE ME OFF. Do you tiny, money-hungry little f*uckers get that? All of you need to go back to school and get some communication training!

Zsolt Zsemba

Zsolt Zsemba has worn many different hats. He has been an entrepreneur, and businessman for over 30 years. Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.
