It’s Familly Time!

The Family Is Coming!

My family and I have worked together for 35 years. In those years I cannot recall having vacations together. Since then, my mom has passed away and both my brother and I have gotten divorced. Therefore, our family has been broken up and spread thin. I moved to Indonesia to get away from the furniture industry. My brother is an addiction counselor, and my dad is retired.

My son and daughter are both busy with work and relationships and with the lovely pandemic we had, travel was not in anyone’s vocabulary. Now we are all coming together for a vacation in January. Tickets are booked and our villa is ready. My brother will arrive in a few days and stay for a few months while going in and out of Indonesia.

All Together.

This will be the first time we will have a group of us together in one place on vacation. We have of course had Christmas holidays and other family functions but never have we had vacations together with just us, the four boys.

Before we had the business, we took turns going on vacation. We always made sure that we had someone in the business to take care of things if need be. We covered for each other and so we never went anywhere together. We took turns to ensure that someone was always present in the business. While we had people in place for all positions, we always felt that someone needed to be around just in case. We may have been overly cautious but that is the way it was.

This time we will all be present in Bali just after the new year in January. This is a first for us and while I hope it’s not the last it is going to be a hell of a few weeks. I’ll need to have some stock blogs to get over the few busy weeks.

All Of Us in Bali

Bali is always interesting. The hustle and bustle of Bali makes for interesting events and occurrences. These are always more fun when shared with friends and family.

The last time my brother was here was about a year ago, my son about 3 years ago and my dad was 23 years ago. Much has changed in the world and Bali was not immune to the changes. It has built up at an insane level. Sometimes I try to comprehend how much food and drinks revolve around the island and how the food distribution works. Sometimes one can see the deliveries but at other times the food… Well, it’s just there. Ready to be cooked and served up. No matter, lots to plan for the coming few months and lots to do when everyone arrives. Going to be a great few months and I look forward to having everyone in Bali together.

So much has changed in Bali over the years that for my dad it will be like coming back to a different country. Much has changed and much of the old Bali has remained. Traffic is worse and I doubt that in 23 years there will be something that has remained untouched. So, we will see how this family reunion goes, but stay tuned, I am sure we will have some fun blogs.

Zsolt Zsemba

Zsolt Zsemba has worn many different hats. He has been an entrepreneur, and businessman for over 30 years. Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.
