In Memory Of Mom

A memory that came up on Facebook

I wish to share this posting I posted on Facebook to my mom on the first Christmas without her on December 26, 2011. We will never get back a loved one, but we will never lose them completely.

Mom, you are missed, you are loved and you will always be remembered.

Dear Mom…

It’s our first Christmas without you and it hurts so badly. It’s not even so much the memories we had and shared because those I will always remember. It’s the fact that you left us way too early… The anger within us as we watched you slowly slip away. We stood by your bed helplessly and there was not a thing we could do. We are so used to picking up our phones and telling anyone and everyone what to do or asking for help.

But when we are truly helpless and everyone around us is doing his or her best just to keep us alive… That’s when we realize that life is but a test. Each day we awake to join the rat race. We don’t take the time to slow down and speak face-to-face. We are all too busy getting new cell phones, new cars, and bigger houses. All that? For what?

Now we all look back and realize… We never took the time when we had each other close by. So, this Christmas should be as joyful as each of the past. Yet you are missing from our lives. We were lucky, well if you could call it lucky. We got to say goodbye to you because we all knew what the outcome would be. But no matter how many words we said and shared or how many tears we shed…

This Christmas is again just another test. I call it a test because we all fail. Fail to enjoy life, fail to say I love you, and fail to care. We need to gather our strength so we can all hold it together. Because no matter what and no matter how we try… We can never really say goodbye.  So, while we will smile and laugh and try to be happy… Our thoughts and best wishes go out to you. Because even though we are far apart, you will always, always, always be in our hearts.

Love you and miss you, mom…

Zsolt Zsemba

Zsolt Zsemba has worn many different hats. He has been an entrepreneur, and businessman for over 30 years. Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.
