Honda Service, Fix?

Honda Service

So the other day a part fell off my motorcycle. It was a small part that you push and click and it opens and is used for storage. The Honda dealer said they needed a certain part to fix it and would need to order the part. No big deal, but then they also found the steering needed a bearing because it was rattling, so there was something wrong. I was aware of this and this was something I had asked to be checked.

When I asked him about the bearing and how this probably could be rectified they told me that it is not a difficult fix but they do not have the part. This was a major authorized Honda dealer in Bali. The service person asked me to go to another shop where they may have the part and they may be able to fix it right away. I was confused, as in North America we would call down to the shop and grab the part, right?

Puzzled simply because they lost out on the business because they didn’t have the part, but they knew where the part could be found which was five minutes away. So instead of going to get the part and fixing the motorcycle at the shop and charging me for it, they sent me away…

They referred me to another shop that had the part and gave the business away to the other shop. This is puzzling to me because you have the motorcycle in your shop. You know what the service needs to be done to the motorcycle. You know exactly what needs to be done, but you are lazy! All you have to do is run get the part, get it on the motorcycle, but no.

I would be happy because the bike would be finished. Now, I got the motorcycle back, and on my own needed to track down the other shop. Now I picked up the motorcycle, which I didn’t have to pay for because they didn’t do anything. They just looked at the motorcycle. The bearing was wrong and now I have to go find the shop which they didn’t give me an address for.

Would you prefer my presence at your shop to someone else’s shop? Now I know that you are absolutely inept and what you’re doing and you don’t want my business. If this is the kind of business practice you are going to conduct you will not have returning clients.

Because of this, I am not going to go to your shop again Honda of Jimbaran Bali. Thank you for referring me somewhere else. Maybe they will provide better service/motorcycle repair place by the road?

An authorized Honda dealer service technician turned me away. I hope business owners will learn because this is very bad for business. It just goes to show the laziness of some people that are just absolutely, doing their job and they are definitely not looking out for their own business by giving away business to other people.
