The Coming Book
Yes, here it goes, my first book being published in Indonesia. Yes, I am quite excited, why wouldn’t I be? How did this all come about? Well, it kinda goes like this. Putting my fingers where my mouth is, is how this book came about.
When someone tells me I can’t do something I need to prove them wrong!
I used to be much more competitive when I was younger. On the soccer field or in track and field, the harder the game was the harder I worked. While my knee has given out and I am a few years older… That does not mean my brain stopped functioning. So here we go! The competitive edge kicked in. After a lengthy conversation, I went home one evening and began to write. I was not completely new to this. I have written many made for tv movies and hundreds of scripts. Sometimes I look back and wonder how it was possible. It was and I did it.
It’s Out of Revenge Actually.
Oh yeah, it’s full on revenge time. Not with baseball bats or guns, but with something so much more powerful. Words… That’s right, words are the most powerful weapons ever. I cannot fight fire with fire as I am outmatched. However, I can fight an intellectual fight. Something that no one can take away from me and something that no one can stop. I decided to test myself and see what I was capable of.
So I Decided to Write a Book.
So I decided to write more than one book. More on that later. For now, it’s Gerobak 777. Yup, that is the title and the cover teaser for now. This is a book about me when I read between the lines. No, it’s not my story, but it is me in the sense that I set out to prove something and prove it I did. Not many people can say they have written a book. Now I can say it and with my friend’s help, we did it. So Janet, thanks and this time it will be a bit different right, because we can say out loud that we did it!
What’s It About?
It is a fast paced drama about life, karma, and life lessons. The main character is based on someone I know. While it is not a direct interpretation of their life, it is something I wished this particular person would get to experience and be humbled. While I have a snowball’s chance in hell of that happening, I hope to one day sit down with this person and give him my book, since I piece of my mind may not be enough.
Life lessons are hard to teach.
I wrote this story with this character in mind and hope to hell one day I can get the book before him. Okay, that will most likely never happen. However, if they ever come calling for the rights, I’ll make sure they pay the highest price ever. One can always hope. So that is the background of this book. What and how it will all play out is a matter of time and marketing. Wish me luck, will you? 🙂
