The Human Cost of Progress-3

From War to Restoration: What Could Be Achieved?

Imagine a world where resources spent on war were redirected toward healing the planet. The possibilities are as exciting as they are achievable. With the right investments, humanity could address climate change, restore biodiversity, and create a sustainable future for all.

One of the most promising areas for investment is renewable energy. Solar, wind, and geothermal energy are already proving to be effective alternatives to fossil fuels. A fraction of global military spending—around $500 billion—could fund the transition to clean energy on a global scale. This would reduce emissions, slow global warming, and provide affordable electricity to billions of people.

The Projects

Another powerful initiative is reforestation. Forests play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide and maintaining biodiversity. With $100 billion, it would be possible to plant 1 trillion trees across the planet. Projects like this not only combat climate change but also support wildlife and local communities.

The cleanup of polluted oceans and waterways is equally critical. Plastic waste has reached alarming levels, threatening marine life and ecosystems. Programs like The Ocean Cleanup have already begun tackling this issue, but they need more funding. Redirecting a portion of military budgets could accelerate these efforts and restore balance to the oceans.

Solutions!

The benefits of restoration extend beyond the environment. Cleaner air, healthier ecosystems, and renewable energy lead to stronger economies and more stable societies. By investing in these solutions, humanity can create a future worth striving for.

Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment.
