A Café Romance

The daydream.

I entered the Enchanted Cafe and sat down. Quickly I notice the beautiful lady seated across from me. I gaze at her for the longest time. She must feel my stare knowing I am looking, staring, and daydreaming. I don’t know why she is here. I don’t know who she is waiting for. She looks stunning wearing a red dress, a sparkling necklace, and matching heels. Her face is neither happy nor sad, she is at peace, and she is content.

What catches my eyes the most is her lips. The lipstick matches her skin and accentuates her lips further. The subtle movements the slight twitches… I don’t think even she notices. She has my undivided attention.

I may have been staring too long at her, but I can’t help it. Time stands still for a little while. In my head, I try and soak up her beauty so this moment can sink within me. My time is limited with her so I take in as much as I can.

I don’t know why she smiled, maybe she could see me out of the corner of her eye. Maybe a fond memory flashed in her head. Her smile and her eyes as they light up my day. Mesmerize me in her grace. It’s a hypnotic feeling I have with her.  In my daydream, I can converse openly about anything. I can act and be myself and no judgment is laid. My imaginary conversation varies from serious to silly and when I see her my life is simply happy.

When I touch her, I forget everything, nothing matters but her. This woman who is across from me in a stunning red dress is a dream. I can’t treat her in any other way than to give all of me instantly. To make her smile, make her happy to please her in anyway way I can. At once she looks my way, our eyes locked and I am forced to look away. The moment is gone…

The connection is lost. I am back to reality and take a sip of my latte. Such perfection I have yet to see. The woman gets up and slowly walks away. She heads to the door. I don’t know what to say. I feel like running after her and running away. No matter, my moment of splendor has come and gone.
