Back In Canada!

It’s Been Two Years

Other than the cold… Well yes, the cold seems to be the number one thing. Going out sucks, even when it’s sunny it’s cold. That used to be normal. However, it’s been over six and a half years that I have been away and enjoying the tropical temperatures of Indonesia. I never used to have a problem clearing the snow without gloves, yet here I was trying to make content for TikTok by building a tiny snowman out of three snowballs. Needless to say, my hands we freezing to the point it took me a few minutes to pack these snowballs and make descent decent-looking snowman.

That being said, I got sick as well and had a cough that refused to go away. So, welcome back to Canada, right? Well, it was not all bad, the main point was to come and spend time with family and enjoy birthdays here as well.

What Changed

Well, the lovely pictures of a man with a beard and makeup on the Shoppers Drugmart poster. Clearly, the all-inclusive Canadian identity and identifiers were a culture shock. Not that I care, but it was in my face and kinda scared me.

Diversity, we talk about it all the time and Canada is one of the most diverse countries in the world. Yet I found myself looking around and listening to the languages spoken around me. It was not the English language that was prominent. I found myself with mixed feelings and looking back 6 years, Canada sure has changed. I left before the incredibly stupid Liberal Government wrecked this country and continued doing so. But I am glad I am living in Indonesia, Bali to be specific for my specific reasons.

More Freedom

This may sound totally wrong to you. I do what I want, how I want and when I want. I don’t deal with politics, don’t deal with racism, shootings, and most of all the Karens of North American society. I don’t listen to the news 24/7 or talk radio. I do my own thing, live my own life and mind my business.

I am the minority

I like it that way, it makes me feel special. I am kidding but not really… Being a foreigner in Indonesia and speaking the language does make you stand out. It makes you rare and with that, I have tons of fun. I do have more freedom, I do have more fun and I do enjoy the beach, the sun the people and the food. So my life is considerably more enjoyable than being back in Canada!

Zsolt Zsemba

Zsolt Zsemba has worn many different hats. He has been an entrepreneur, and businessman for over 30 years. Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.
