Back to Jimbaran

Jimbaran

I have moved around Bali quite a bit. Several locations over the course of the last year and the first part of this one. However, I am back in Jimbaran. Why Jimbaran? Well, it’s not as much for the beach and seafood as one may think. No, no, no, it is for the view as seen in this post.

While I love Ubud, I love Tabanan, Seminyak as well as Kerobokan, and Umalas I love the view from Jimbaran. Now not all places have a view here either. Searching for the location is not always easy.  I did manage to find a place here and I am quite happy with my current location.

Other places.

Yes, many places in the Bukit area offer views. Pecatu, Balangan, Goa Gong, and so forth. Uluwatu is another amazing place with views to die for. However, Jimbaran is still relatively close to everything. It is important because, like most places in Indonesia, traffic is something to contend with.

Jimbaran is ideal since it’s not way up high and is easy to get to. However, the perfect location for even better views would be Pecatu and Balangan. Even Kintamani, Bedugul, and Ubud can offer beautiful views. However, they are quite a way out of town and away from the heart of Bali. This proximity to the lifeblood of Bali is not necessary when one lives in Bali. It is important if you are a visitor, you want to stay close to the nightlife and restaurants.

Jimbaran, Bali

This location is ideal for everyone and is quite sought after. Getting a place to rent in the perfect location takes patience and time. Yet it is possible and once you are in, you may not want to leave.

Such is the case in my view. I love to be able to take a laptop to the rooftop and have an incredible view of the island. If you are lucky and the sky is clear, you will see all the way to the north of Bali and enjoy amazing views of the city and attractions below you. There is something to be said when you see flights leaving Bali and you wave goodbye to the visitors and know that you are here to stay. For now, my home is in Jimbaran, I hope that soon it will be permanent here as this is a rental location and not my house, not just yet.

Nearby attractions.

All you need to do is search on Google, but since you are here… Nearby is the famous Four Seasons Resort and right next to it is the famous fish market/restaurants. Anything your heart desires from the ocean before you are here.

On some days, the beach is so filled with smoke that you will walk away smelling “lovely” from the grilled fish, lobster, shrimp, and octopus. Sometimes the place is so packed that you wonder where all the seafood comes from to accommodate the island. This is but one location and many nearby places are offering up amazing seafood. Nevertheless, come enjoy the beach, GWK, Uluwatu, and of course the amazing sunsets in the Bukit, Jimbaran location of Bali.
