So here we go!

Positivity ahead in 2023.

Or is it? Why do we base an arbitrary day on a new beginning? Hell, if I know. All I know is that it is sunny. It is not raining after nearly two weeks of intense rain. To me, the sunshine and the blue skies are good enough to have a great day.

Yes, the sun is hot when one is riding a scooter. However, it is manageable and it sure makes up for the days we got rained on. In reality, nothing has changed. I took a few days off to recharge with the views from the Four Points Sheraton in Ungasan Bali.

This is one of my favorite places and have often visited this location. This was my escape during the COVID lockdown. I managed to get to Bali during the pandemic and spent a month at this location. To me, it is the perfect location, especially if you are new to Bali.

Recharge.

Chasing happiness with a view is hard. I love the views and I have been trying to find a place that has all my wants and needs. I have gotten close, but never close enough to lock down one location. Of course, one needs to keep budgets in mind, and meeting people becomes even harder when one is very far away from “civilization”. However, in Bali, one is never far from civilization, but it seems far after a two-hour scooter ride in the heat for 40km. Sooner or later I’ll have to take a tradeoff between the view, the price, and the location.

As the saying goes, location, location, location. I want my view, that’s the dream and eventually, the dream will come true as it has on the weekend. However, the weekend view was not permanent.

I feel that once I have the view I never need to leave. Probably a lie I tell myself, but I have loved this view for decades. This is my go-to place. This view is something you can pay for and yet it’s free!

It’s free and I love it.

This is why I love the view. Once you get there and see the view it’s yours. That is why I would love to buy something in this area. No matter how small the house or the patio the view is vast. This is why it is my goal.

I love the view and whether you are in Ubud, Jimbaran, Ungasan, Pecatu, or somewhere in between once you get it it’s yours forever, sort of. I love the view from my condo in Toronto. Yet the view is not of a tropical island. It is not the view of a jungle in Ubud. I guess the problem or the solution is, where do I want the view? Another reason I want the view is for work. My current place has no view, it seems to be thwarting my imagination, sort of. So, the search for the view will go on…
