Let’s talk!

This is the hardest thing in the world, isn’t it? How hard is it to say a few words of encouragement to someone? A thank you, you’re welcome, and a smile when you say hello.

These little things cost nothing. No one will steal your smile or take your words. The little things will only make someone happy. As the saying goes, if you have nothing nice to say, shut the fuck up! However, if you have something that you need to get off your chest, go ahead and do it.

If your girlfriend wants to get married, she may hint at visiting a jewelry store and she will take you to check out rings. She does not need to say she wants to get married, she can make a very clear hint. This is also a form of communication. If this does not come across clearly she can tell you about her friend’s ring and slowly bring up the subject.

I wish we could all be kids sometimes.

Kids will openly ask and throw temper tantrums when they want something. I wish we could all be kids sometimes. Just jump up and down and get what we want. Cry and sob until we get that car, phone or computer.

We would look like fools,  However, that is how some kids communicate their wants and needs. For adults, a few simple words are all that is needed. If you are upset you don’t need to go off and lie or cheat, no need to throw things. Say what is on your mind like you do when you look at a menu in a restaurant.

What would you like, what’s on your mind? I want a burger and I am thinking we need to have kids, buy a puppy or let’s move on because I am no longer interested in you.

Do not drag it on.

Do not lead people on. Say what’s on your mind as early as possible. This makes life simple and this makes life much easier for everyone.

Rip off that band-aid real quick.

Like waxing… I have never had it done but I assume it hurts like hell but you walk away feeling cleaner and you are all set for the next little while. These are all things we sometimes or often fail to do. Why bother holding onto hard feelings and things that make your stomach turn or keep them in tight knots? If something bothers you, say something.

Oh, I am not that kind of person…

Bullshit, you can think it, you can say it. Your partner is not a mind reader. If you care about your partner, kids, family, and co-workers, you need to speak. There are a million ways to say things and a million ways to come around to a certain topic by leading the conversation. Open your mouth instead of opening your legs to someone else.

Good leaders will do this.

Good leaders will see when there are problems. Above all, they will pick up on the little things. They will see a person’s reaction, action, or lack of action. A good person will talk to individuals in different ways because they can see the lack of interaction from one and the enthusiasm from another.

Bringing people together is what coaches do on professional sports teams. I used to play centre fullback as a defenseman on our soccer team. My coach loved the fact that I was a strong defenceman. One day though, we were losing against the Burlington team by one goal. Near the end of the game, he put me up as centre forward. Within a minute, I was taking shots on the net and bam hit the crossbar. I remember this so clearly as the ball nailed the crossbar and flew back onto the field. We didn’t win the game, but that shot, that afternoon turned me into the top goal scorer on the team for the years to come.

Zsolt Zsemba has worn many different hats. He has been an entrepreneur, and businessman for over 30 years. Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.

  1. The mystery of life. We can organize world sport events. Entertain the world. But we can’t get the leaders of our world to seek peace. Maybe we need the soccer men and women leaders to run our world? Powerful and worthwhile words shared my friend.
