Taking a Break in #Canada. 6

Niagara Falls.

I have been to Niagara Falls more times than I can remember. First with my aunt and uncle when we came to Canada. Then with my relatives from Hungary, then with friends, relatives, family trips, relatives, visitors, and so on.

The water keeps falling and falling and the sight of Niagara Falls is amazing, mesmerizing, and beautiful. It is not the tallest, the biggest, or the best waterfall in the world. Yet it is ours and it makes for a cool separator between Canada and the United States. A place where you can walk into no man’s land… The wait is that term still valid. Is it no one’s land or no person’s land? Not sure what to call it anymore. You get the idea, of a place that does not belong to anyone. It is a hard concept to grasp and I wonder if I build a little house there, who will come after me?

Made Great Content.

As my video continues to rack up views past 30 thousand on TikTok, I assume that Niagara Falls has lots of appeal to those around the world. So many people wish to see it in person. Despite our day being around 6-8 degrees Celsius, the Falls were quite busy.

Clifton Hill was the same as always. Lots of lights, lots of restaurants, and of course a haunted house opposite an ice cream place and Beaver Tails. The latter of which I had to eat. I was tempted very much by the Funnel Cakes but decided against it because it was close to lunch.

The Surroundings.

Being within a few hundred meters from the USA the Canadian side resonates very well with the feel of our neighbors to the south. I always wondered why the immediate Niagara Falls area looked so rundown and so American. No offense but it has a different vibe than the rest of Canada. Not to beat up on any American friends but it feels so much more like America.

Maybe it is the many visitors that come across the border. Maybe it is because of the many Canadians there that visit America. No matter and do not hate, please. These are only observations.

What Made This Special?

One, I met an old friend from high school that I covered in the previous blog. This was special because I went with my son. I have never been to Niagara Falls with just my son.  We have been to Niagara Falls before but not as a father-and-son road trip.

It was fun to have my son and I explore a little and create content for TikTok and then enjoy some Beaver Tails and a cup of coffee. Despite what I had said earlier about the surrounding area, Niagara Falls and the Clifton Hill area is a beautiful tourist traps. Though it was cold and a bit windy, we felt comfortable by midday and did some amazing videos as well as cool pics for the blog and TikTok.

We finished our trip by going to Mike’s Pies and pigged out on coconut pies to add to our very unhealthy day of junk food. However, we had a great time, and created amazing memories for us to share.
