What’s next? Bali Indonesia 51

But first, 18 thousand followers on TikTok.

While I will be heading to Canada on the 10th of October, I have a few updates. For one, I have reached 18 thousand plus followers on TikTok. While this alone means nothing, once put into context it means a lot.

After a month on TikTok, I realized the power and the lack of power of social media. I gained a lot of followers who followed me for several reasons. One I am a foreigner speaking the local language. Two I am helping small businesses and the third is that I am a bit unique because I understand the culture.

What’s next?

For now, I have been overwhelmed by the number of people reaching out to me. Currently, it is about 400 and rising. I have scrambled to put together a small team to help with all this and it had not been easy. Now we have begun contacting everyone and this is where the business end of all this will start.

The team will slowly begin separating the information and where the individual needs help. I know this will get very confusing, frustrating, and maybe even ugly.

We will not know until we dive into it. So far my experience has been that the lack of knowledge from small business owners is evident.

What they do not know.

This is not a lack of enthusiasm but the lack of understanding of the world wide web and the culture on social media. Hell, very knowledgeable people are often dumbfounded and miss the boat on ideas. How can a local farmer or a local person in a village understand how to market a store or a product? I would consider myself experienced and knowledgeable on many things but I didn’t know what to expect when I dove into the world of TikTok. So there you go. We are off to the races and hopefully, we will emerge as helpful, understanding, and kind. Hope we will be able to help people and figure out the small mess I got myself into.

I was not prepared.

As I said, I thought I was somewhat intelligent but when the unexpected hits well, one cannot be prepared for everything. Looking back I should have had a whole team on standby and sitting by the phones ready to take calls.

The weekend I launched my TikTok I spent the entire weekend on the couch answering messages. Then each time I went live I did the same because of the sheer number of followers.

If I was getting paid for all this, I would have made some money. I am not, yet anyway. So far I made a total of $18 for all my efforts and that is in the way of prizes. I cannot retire on that.

Zsolt Zsemba has worn many different hats. He has been an entrepreneur, and businessman for over 30 years. Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.
