Influenced influencers. Part 5

Old world thinking.

I mentioned the old-world thinking of business owners in part 4 of this blog series. The short-sited business outlook that many owners have puzzles me.

The “extra” cost of social media and the extra cost of influencers is a cost they do not insert into their business plan is downright weird.

Many owners still see social media as an added expense and not a part of their original business plan. This is especially true for a place like Bali. When you are used to people coming by the millions it was not seen as essential. Now that people are fighting for the business, your business or service must stand out.

Standing out.

This is from my perspective and the niche I have chosen to take on. Small accounts that are struggling are where I saw growth. Some accounts may not be small but the owners are missing out. The problem is that they may not be “Instagrammable”. A real estate company may not be able to attract clients by taking photos of their location. They can however create amazing content about the properties they sell. Ah yes… But that costs money. How much money? Remember, the costs in Bali for a shoot are not comparable to that of Canada. This does not mean it cannot be achieved. It means it will be different. However, a few leads from the content that we create, can. That will pay for our services and more if there is only one extra sale in a year from our efforts.

Understanding the spending.

This little bit of simple math will explain it all. If we charged $1000/month to run an account and create a few reels, it may seem expensive. $12,000.00 per year.
If our content generates 5 leads per year, our cost is back within the one transaction in commission. Keeping the math simple and not counting other minimum costs, the rest of the money spent by the owner will be purely a return on their investment in us.

This is where the social media aspect of Facebook, TikTok and Instagram play a huge part in the small business we look after. The business owners can now see the benefits and they want more. Run contests, generate traffic and see the results. But this takes time and patience.

Zsolt Zsemba has worn many different hats. He has been an entrepreneur, and businessman for over 30 years. Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.
