How I became a writer. Part 10

How I became a writer. Part 10

When someone tells you that you can’t do something, you have two choices. One, you don’t do it and two you prove them wrong and do it anyway.

That is the way this all started. We were working on a story for a series. It was technical with doctors and all and I made a comment that…

“I couldn’t write that…” When my boss replied, “That’s because you are not a writer!”

Well, if I would have had a blood pressure meter hooked up to me, I am sure it would have blown! All because this was the same boss that relied on us for three complete series when he started the company, the same one that I ended back up at years later. He conveniently forgot that small detail.

That weekend I decided that I was going to prove him wrong. I began a story and it ended up as being Scars. It is a drama based on the premise that two long-time childhood friends will be tested on their love for each other. The small twist is that the boy will have an accident and his face will be mangled. The girl will love him unconditionally and he will not believe her.

I began to write. The story unfolded very well and a short while later, working on the evenings and weekends the book was done. Now somewhere in here is where my editor Janet came into the picture. I am not sure if it was this book or the next one, but things began to take on a life of their own as I got more and more into writing.

The main point was, that I had already proved my boss wrong. I proved that I was a writer.

What he didn’t know was that I was going to take this to another level.

The books kept on coming…

Living abroad has given him many amazing experiences in life and also sparked his imagination for writing. After moving to Canada from Hungary at the age of 10 and working in a family business for a large part of his life. The switch from manufacturing to writing came surprisingly easily for him. His passion for writing began at age 12, mostly writing poetry and short stories. In 1999, the chance came to write scripts. Zsolt took some time off from his family business to write in Jakarta Indonesia for MD Entertainment. Having written dozens of soap operas and made for TV movies, in 2003 Zsolt returned to the family business once more. In 2018, he had the chance to head back to Asia once again. He took on the challenge to be the COO for MD Pictures and get back into the entertainment business. The entertainment business opened up the desire to write once more and the words began to flow onto the pages again. He decided to rewrite a book he began years ago. Organ House was reborn and is a fiction suspense novel while Scars is a young adult drama focused on life’s challenges. After the first two books, his desire to write not only became more challenging but enjoyable as well. After having several books completed he was convinced to publish them for your enjoyment. Zsolt does not tend to stay in one specific genre but tends to lean towards strong female leads and horror. Though he also has a few human interest books, he tends to write about whatever brews in his brain for a while.
